A BIT ABOUT ME

Years of Experience and Proven Results

I have seen first-hand the power that individual attention, be it one-on-one or in a small group, can have on a student’s academic achievement and overall self-esteem. While my methods certainly help all students, I specialize in working with three unique groups of students. The first are those that are doing “okay” in school, and consistently get “C’s” and “B’s,” but want to do better. I also specialize in working with student-athletes, having numerous years’ experience mentoring NCAA Division I athletes. Finally, I also specialize in collaborating with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs), also known as learners with Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), tailoring my coaching to meet their unique learning preferences and needs.

I earned my PhD in History from Penn State University, and my MAEd from Wake Forest University. Although my primary academic training is in history, I offer coaching for high school and college students in courses in all of the Humanities (such as English, Philosophy, and Art History) and the Social Sciences (such as Sociology, Psychology, and Anthropology). I offer mentorship and academic planning that meets you where you are at now and helps you lay the foundations for where you want to go.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to set up an appointment so we can design a program that best suits you!
